Foot loading of an African population
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background In contrast to western countries, foot complaints are rare in Africa. This is remarkable, as most Africans load their feet significantly more; they walk many hours each day, often barefoot or with worn-out shoes. The reason why Africans can withstand such loading without developing foot complaints might be related to the way the foot is loaded. Therefore, foot shape and dynamic plantar pressure distribution of an African population was compared to a Caucasian population.

Purpose: Some deformities that increase the risk of injury including cavus foot are not correctable yet and can only be limited by prevention and taking care of external causes. The current study aimed at determining if foot type (cavus or normal) resulted in loading differences during badminton fundamental movements, considering the prevalence of cavovarus foot deformity and the important role...
متن کاملA comparison of planatar pressure variables during three differnt running patterns in pronated feet individuals with and without low back pain
Aims and background: Individuals with pronated feet suffer from many biomechanical dysfunctions during running. The purpose of this study was to compare the peak plantar pressure in ten areas of the foot, ground reaction force, center of pressure and loading rate during three different running patterns between healthy subjects and pronated feet individuals with and without LBP. Materials a...
